Welcoming Irena to the team

March 8th, 2022 | News

Hello! My name is Irena Zheng and I am the new Marketing and Communications Intern at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Madison. I am currently a senior at the University of Wisconsin – Madison and working towards a bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts along with certificates in Entrepreneurship and Criminal Justice. In my free time, I enjoy running, baking (often inspired by the Great British Baking Show), exploring different cafes around Madison, and I recently got back into reading books again! I have interests in many areas and am continuing to figure out what I want to do after college.

I have always been aware of the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) but never had the chance to fully explore the organization and its mission. From having the opportunity to tour the House through my Legal Studies class at UW-Madison, I truly witnessed the impact that this organization had and continues to have on countless families. I was not aware of just how massive the scope of support and assistance offered by the House, its lovely staff and volunteers truly is. Not only does RMHC provide families with a place to stay during challenging times, but everyone goes above and beyond to ensure all their needs are met. In my brief time as an intern here, I have already been exposed to various heartwarming and rewarding situations that only further fuel my excitement.

I am extremely honored to have the opportunity to join the team and become a part of this amazing mission and organization. I cannot wait to do my part as the Marketing and Communications Intern and utilize social media platforms as well as marketing strategies to broadcast the amazing work everyone here does and gather more exposure so more families can get the support that they need!
