Fighting Diaper Insecurity with WMTV-15 and The Village Diaper Bank

Teamwork makes the dream work. At RMHC-Madison, no truer sentiment could describe our local community partnerships, supporting the needs of each family that steps foot in our doors.
Earlier this month, WMTV-15 and The Village Diaper Bank teamed up for their 4th Annual Diaper Drive, to fight diaper insecurity. RMHC-Madison is one of the many organizations that receive diapers from the Village Diaper Bank, and we were happy to share the difference this partnership makes for our families. Since the partnership began last fall, we have been fortunate to receive more than 1,600 diapers. The impact reaches beyond the financial savings to families. Diapers are one of the many amenities we provide our guests; a continued, sufficient supply reduces this expense and purchase time, allowing staff and volunteers to support the emotional well-being of those staying with us.
Stephanie Hayden, Chief Executive Officer at RMHC-Madison, provided more insight, “Our primary goal is to focus on the needs of guest families. With the House full most nights, that is no short order. Yet by providing simple touches like comfortable rooms, home-cooked meals, and diapers – yes, lots of diapers! – we remove another layer of financial stress. This allows us to provide extra caring support so parents, in turn, can be truly present for their hospitalized child, as well as the rest of their family. Knowing that we don’t have to worry about diapers this year is a welcome relief.”
The Village Diaper Bank allows our organization to serve at its highest capacity. We are incredibly grateful to this partnership and to support this year’s Diaper Drive. It truly takes a Village!
