Great Pumpkin Giveaway

No Tricks, just Treats! On Saturday, October 28, Bucciferro Family McDonald’s hosted the 16th annual Great Pumpkin Giveaway—1,000 pumpkins to be exact! Rich Wolter of Iron Arch Management shared, “The event began as a celebration of our community after we opened our first McDonald’s in Beloit. Back then we gave 500 pumpkins away and $0.97 Big Macs, growing every year into what it is now!” The growth was clearly evident this year as the Beloit restaurant distributed 1,000 pumpkins within the first hour of the event and sold a record-breaking 3,400 Big Macs!

Hundreds of children donned their costumes, took fun photos with McDonald’s characters and enjoyed face painting, candy, games and more from local community groups—there was even a visit from the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile!

Stephanie Hayden, RMHC-Madison Executive Director, was on-site with Care Mobile nurse, Shannon Belmonte and nurse practitioner, Toni Ellingson. The trio shared, “We were so excited to be at the Great Pumpkin Giveaway again this year, showcasing the Care Mobile and distributing goodies to the community it serves.”
