Welcome Family Room Intern Paige Lowell
November 8th, 2018 | News
My name is Paige Lowell and I am the intern at the Ronald McDonald Family Room located in SSM Health – St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. I am currently a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison working to obtain a degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a certificate in Global Health. My goal is to attend a graduate school program to become a Physician’s Assistant. A big part of my degree focuses on strengthening the quality of everyday life and human well-being. Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) does exactly that by ensuring that the families of sick children have a place to stay, resources, and a positive environment during such a hard time.
My passion lies in public health, specifically women’s health. I believe that a big part of making sure that women lead happy lives is ensuring that their children and entire family are taken care of. When encountering the heartbreaking experience of having a sick child, many mothers feel like they have lost control. The Ronald McDonald Family Room gives mothers and the entire family a chance to stay grounded during this time. RMHC and the Ronald McDonald Family Room embody most if not all of the goals of my major. I am looking forward to applying the concepts I have learned in my classes to my position here.
RMHC holds a special place in my heart and I am so excited to have the opportunity to give back to this amazing organization.
