Getting the House Holiday-Ready
November 27th, 2023 | News
There’s something about holiday decorating that just makes a house feel even cozier and more joyful. Ours achieves exactly those feelings when December rolls around thanks to our volunteers—Mike Ireland and Julie & Mike Wuest. This trio has been decorating the House for 8 years and has truly become a tradition. Mike I. shares, “Putting up holiday decorations just brings the House to life, making it such a bright, happy place. For the families who do not get to go home for Christmas, it helps bring them joy and peace.”
The House is home to not one but FIVE trees all meticulously decorated with their own theme. A guest family favorite is the striped sock tree that stands in our sunroom right next to the toasty fireplace—a perfect spot to enjoy a good book or a warm cup of coffee. Our kitchen is home to a fun utensil tree and the family room hosts a pull tab tree! The most iconic, and our largest tree, stands in our front foyer—a perfect greeting to all of those who enter the House during the holidays.
A special thanks to Mike Ireland and Julie & Mike Wuest for always leading the charge in getting our House holiday-ready and to all our volunteers who put their special touches on everything we do here at the House.
